Frequently Asked Questions
All of our bitters are hand made using a spirits base with no artificial flavors, additives, or coloring agents.
Dasher bottles have a wide variance in how much they serve up in “a dash.” We wanted to make sure that our customers had complete control of how much product they put in their creations, allowing them to fine tune recipes to exactly what they like and reproduce the results every time.
On average a dasher bottle serves up 10-12 drops of fluid per dash so we usually recommend you do the same when trying to use our bitters in existing recipes.
When creating our own cocktails we always start with 2 dashes, or in our case 20-24 drops, of bitters for a cocktail 6 oz or larger and then increase or decrease as we see fit. Smaller cocktails may require less, but it is all up to your taste and how much of the flavor from the bitters you’d like to come through in your resulting drink.
Bitters are unique in that they have an almost indefinite shelf life, however their flavor can change over time. In order to ensure the quality of the flavors we recommend consuming a bottle within 12 months of opening it.
No. Because of how they are formulated you do not need to keep bitters in the fridge, making them the perfect cocktail provision for collectors.
We often decide to split our “2 dashes” across a couple kinds of bitters that we think go well together. The only limit is your imagination!
