Day 4 for Craft Spirits Week and we are enjoying this Blueberry Bourbon Smash featuring Southern Star Paragon Bottled in Bond Bourbon from Statesville, NC. Bourbon forward with a sweet berry highlight, the fresh blueberries in this cocktail pair beautifully with the vanilla notes in this delightful North Carolina bourbon while our julep bitters do the heavy lifting bringing complimentary mint and herbal notes so we can reserve the fresh mint for the garnish.
Ingredients
2 oz Bourbon
.5 oz Simple Syrup
10-15 Fresh Blueberries
3 dashes Remedy Cocktail Company Julep Bitters
Instructions
In the bottom of a rocks glass muddle together blueberries, simple syrup, and julep bitters. Pack glass with crushed or pebble ice and pour over bourbon. Stir gently and pack with more crushed ice as needed. Garnish with fresh blueberries and a sprig of mint.
